Meet Washington Lodge's newest Master Masons.
Pictured with Worshipful Master Jeff Lancelle (3rd from left) are (left to right) Tucker Marth, Stuart Ninabuck and Ryan Dunn. These men have kept us busy this past summer and fall and have worked hard to earn this highest honor. We're proud and excited to have these fine men join our lodge and the Masonic Fraternity. Congratulations!

2013 Heritage Hill Event Initiates 2 Entered Apprentices
We had another fantastic evening at the Annual Washington Lodge #21 Heritage Hill Event. It's a tradition for Wash21 to meet once a year under it's former New York charter from the early 1800s when masons met at Fort Howard (Michigan Territory) in what is now Green Bay, Wisconsin. Washington Lodge #21 F&AM Wisconsin's officers continue to wear the original officer jewels from that lodge.
Congratulations to Tucker Marth and Ryan Dunn on receiving the Entered Apprentice Degree. As a tradition at the Heritage Hill Event we meet above the print shop in a replica 1800s masonic lodge. Many of our members have been initiated here going back several decades.

Past Master's Day 2013 Raises 3 Master Masons
Past Master's Day 2013 was a memorable one. We opened up the N.E.W. Masonic Center at 8:00 AM to find that the furnace had malfunctioned and was stuck wide open heating the facility to over 110 degrees (no exaggeration). Regardless we proceeded to raise 3 new Master Masons, Thomas Homburg, Raymond Shanle and Keith Pinney. Thanks to everyone who participated especially to the Past Masters and the candidates. We look forward to see all you brothers again soon.

Passed to the degree of Fellowcraft
Last night we had a wonderful meeting. Two men that we're extremely excited about joining us in lodge were passed to the degree of Fellowcraft. Washington Lodge #21 opened and conducted it's business in the Master Mason degree. We then closed a lodge of Master Masons and opened a lodge of Entered Apprentices to allow Keith Pinney and Raymond Shanle to post in that degree. Great Job Guys! Worshipful Master Jeffrey Lancelle conferred the Fellowcraft degree for brother Shanle while Joseph Chilcote PM conferred the degree for brother Pinney. It was a great night. If you missed it come out to the next meeting. We're planning to hold a Special Meeting on Thursday, January 31st (5th Thursday of the Month) to do some more degree work. More details to come. We hope to see you there.

New Master Mason and 60 Year Mason Honored
Washington Lodge's first meeting of the 2013 masonic year included a Master Mason degree and the honoring of a 60 year mason.
Davis Kim was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason this past Thursday January 3rd. Good luck to you Davis as you head back to your studies at the University of Michigan. We hope you can sit with us in lodge during your next break and tell us about your experience as a traveling man in Michigan.
Thanks to all who attended and participated. It was a special night that included presenting Claude Bohn with his 60 year member pin, certificate and card. Thank you Claude. We are proud to have you as a brother and member of our lodge and it was a privilege to present you with the 60 year honors. Claude is actually now a 61 year member of the fraternity as of last November.

Trestleboard January - February
First and foremost I would like to thank the members of
Washington Lodge
21 for their confidence in me. In the past, most Lodges look
to when the
Master plans his year. During my tenure at the helm, we will
build our year
together. I can not and will not run the lodge as if it were
mine alone. It is
our lodge and we succeed or fail together, as a team.
We will begin by expanding the role of the installed
officers. Yes, they have
their normal duties when the lodge is open. But they will
also be assigned
as Chairmen of Committees and will have overall authority
and responsibility to conduct the committee business. Other members of the
lodge may
be asked to become members of these committees and I hope
their support can be counted on. Committee assignments will evolve as the year
progresses and need requires.
To begin the year on a lean forward posture, all EA and FC
members will
be expected to attend on lodge meeting nights when possible.
This does
several things; first it gets the member used to attending
lodge on a regular basis. Secondly it allows fellowship among brothers and gets
everyone
acquainted.
Thirdly, while lodge is in session, the EA and FC members
will be in educational sessions as designed by the Counselor Corps. We have
much to
do and catch up on in the coming year. There are many
candidates waiting
in the wings and if we all put forth the effort I know we’re
capable of, our
ranks will swell with quality men. Plans are to do a degree
every meeting,
the candidate and which degree will be determined by the
counselors. I
have an open door policy for anyone to discuss any topic at
any time.
Again, thank you Washington Lodge 21. Together we can make
great
strides in the coming year.
Jeff Lancelle, Worshipful Master
